In “Representations of Representations,” he discussed the contribution of conceptual graphs to the work of the American National Standards Institute X3T2 Group in preparing a report on the isolation of a common logic foundation and conceptual schema–modeling facilities. Papers were presented by a number of individuals and groups from several countries on the development and use of the conceptual graph representational language. The rapid development of the software base was demonstrated in the “Third PEIRCE Workshop: A Conceptual Graph Workbench,” chaired by Gerard Ellis of the University of Queens■ The Second International Conference on Conceptual Structures (ICCS’94) was held at the University of Maryland on August 16 to 20. The conference, which marked the tenth anniversary of conceptual graphs, was attended by about 80 scientists from 12 countries. This article presents some of the conference highlights.
